Do you like optical illusions? You know those
pictures that when you first see them you don't know
what the picture is and it takes you awhile and if
you're perceptive you can pick up that there is an
illusion. I don't know what it is about me but I
always have a hard time picking up the optical
illusions. I have seen the Jesus illusion. Maybe
you've seen it. You have to just keep looking and
keep looking. If you look long enough, finally the
name Jesus will come out of the illusion. An optical
illusion is a picture that is there all the time but
it may take you a little time in order to see it.

There are some things taught in the Bible that are
kind of like that. There are truths that are so big,
so important that if you're not careful you really
won't pick them up the first time you go through.

I gave my life to Jesus when I was a nine-year-old
boy. It was on a Sunday night. I was sitting on the
second row. I remember when I gave my life to the
Lord that night I gave all I knew about myself to all
I knew about Himself. Then when I became a sixteen-
year-old boy, I heard a truth which brought me to a
point of total commitment to the Lord. It is the
truth which we find in these verses of scripture. I
discovered the truth, I AM THE LORD'S. Simple little
words, but that truth absolutely changed the way I
looked at the Christian life. The lordship of Jesus,
the fact that you and I belong to Jesus as born again
believers, is one of those BIG truths in the Bible
that if you're not careful you're going to miss it.

We know that Jesus is Savior. He is referred to as
Savior 24 times in the New Testament. But Jesus
Christ is also referred to as Lord. He is referred to
as Lord 747 times. When you receive Jesus as your
Savior, according to the Bible, you also receive Jesus
as your Lord.
