Mat 27:50 KJV - Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.

Theme: ''Taking a close look at the veil that was torn''

I have been preparing sermons on ''Jesus and ...'' and this series has dealt with many of the Easter themes. Today we will be discussing the ''Torn Veil'' and hopefully we will learn some insight from this message.

The death of Christ was just as prophetic and momentous as his birth and his resurrection. The bible gives us a vast array of information concerning the death of our Lord. In the gospels we also see that his death was surrounded by several miracles, as follows:

• The Darkening of the Sun

Mat 27:45 KJV - Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.

This was more than an eclipse this was a supernaturally imposed darkness.

• The Renting of the Veil

Mat 27:51 KJV - And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom;

This curtain was massive and only a divine miracle could have torn it.

• The Quaking of the Earth

Mat 27:51 KJV - ...and the earth did quake...
