Ephesians 3:1-13

There are many things in life which are
mysteries. Some things fall into the category of
mystery. There are some things that we will never
know. They are mysteries. There are some things about
God that are in the category of mystery and we do not
know. There's a verse of Scripture in the Old
Testament which has been helpful to me in that regard.
This verse will help you deal with the mysteries of
life and the things of God that we do not understand.
Here is a statement which can comfort your heart when
you are in the presence of mysteries that you do not
understand. Deut. 29:29 says, "the secret things
belong unto the Lord our God, but those things which
are revealed belong unto us and our children forever
that we may do all the words of this law". He is
saying that there are some things that are the secret
things of God and they belong unto the Lord. Then,
there are some things about God that God chooses to
reveal to us. He reveals these things to us for the
purpose that we might do all the words of His law.
That we might obey them. That we might do what God
wants us to do.
He is talking, in Ephesians, about a mystery. In
my Bible I have circled the word "mystery" three times
in these verses I have read. In verse 3 he says, "by
revelation God made known unto me the mystery". In
verse 4 he says, "that ye may understand my knowledge
in the mystery of Christ". Then down in verse 9 he
says, "to make all men see what is the fellowship of
the mystery". When we use the word "mystery" today,
we think in terms of something that is puzzling or
something that is obscure or something that is
difficult for us to know. Or we use it in terms of a
mystery novel. We call them "who done its." I 'm the
impetuous kind and I never can read all the way
through. I turn to the end and find out who done it.
Then ...
