Ephesians 2:21,22

I'm looking back to chapter 2, verses 21 and 22. Just
didn't get finished with all I wanted to say last
week. We have here a statement in the Word of God
about the church and what the church is intended to
be. It is intended to be God's home. God intends to
live in the church—to dwell in the church. One of the
great movements now in science is intelligent design.
Scientists are now coming to understand that our
universe, specifically our earth, has been uniquely
designed for an occupant. That occupant is a person—
human beings. All of the life support systems
necessary to the existence and sustenance of human
beings was uniquely designed into this universe and it
could only be intelligent design. The mathematical
probabilities of all of this coming together with all
of the life systems necessary to sustain human life
are mathematically impossible. So, we know that the
universe came about by intelligent design, being
designed for people.

In a similar way the church of the Lord Jesus Christ
comes into existence by intelligent design. But there
is a different occupant. It is not for people, but
it's for God Himself. Notice what He says. "In whom
all the building fitly framed together groweth unto a
holy temple in the Lord. ...a habitation of God
through the Spirit." That word "habitation" is a
word that means "to live down in." That is, "to
settle down in."

It's interesting to note that it's found only one
other time in the whole Bible. It's found in the 18th
chapter of the book of the Revelation and the 2nd
verse. It says "Babylon, the great is fallen".
That's a prediction out in the future. "And is become
the habitation of demons and the whole of every foul
spirit and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird".
God predicts that Babylon that will be rebuilt
evidently during the Tribulatio ...
