1 Corinthians 3:8-15

Pastor Steve Fuller, in his blog, posed this scenario. He said, ''Imagine someone told you to walk 5 miles to the bank and that upon your arrival you would receive $5 million for doing so.'' Most of us would hit the road immediately, regardless of what kind of physical shape we were in or how much of an aversion we may have to strenuous physical exercise. In that scenario, we have been given a command and along with that command we were also given a reason and motivation to obey. The command, regardless of who gave it, may not have awakened in us a desire to walk 5 miles. However, the command to walk five miles accompanied by the promise of $5 million at the end of our journey certainly did.

Do you think in the course of that 5 mile trek we would forget why we were walking? Not a chance! Every time a foot would hit the pavement we would be thinking - there's another $100 dollars.
