Isaiah 7:14
Psalm 143:8 Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life. (NIV)
My sister-in-law came to visit us from New York a few weeks ago. She came to church with us and we had a wonderful time together. She said next time she comes, she would be coming with my brother and they would bring some old films and picture slides of my parents and our family growing up. I was excited to hear that. I started to think about the old slide projectors and how you put a little 1½ inch square slide into the projector and what appears on the screen is so much bigger. In its original state, it's only about an inch and a half wide, but when it is projected, it's bigger and reaches more people.
The same holds true with God. He has a prophetic projection for each of our lives. You may say, ''well Pastor Lenny, I never got a prophetic word like you did.'' My answer to you is you don't need a prophetic word to know the will of God for your life. He has already given you His Word the Bible and over 3,000 promises that you can receive for yourself today. Faith is NOW, but it looks forward to a bright future that God has for you. God never operates in the past. He wants us to LIVE in the present and HOPE for the future. The problems come when we tie ourselves to our past. We look back and think, ''Oh this went wrong and that went wrong. My parents were always poor. I have made too many mistakes. God could never forgive me of the sins of my past. I have just failed over and over again.'' You can't drive your car forward looking in the rear-view mirror! If all you can do is look in the rear-view mirror, you are either not moving or going backwards!
Aren't you glad you serve a God who doesn't condemn you for your ...
