a) The goal for most people is ''winning''
b) Losing is just not as fun
c) Things we hate to lose:
i) money, job, a bet, car keys, credibility, business deals, friends, one sock in a pair, sports, hair
ii) You could easily fill this screen with specifics
d) Things we are ok to lose:
i) weight
ii) Sometimes you win this back...
e) We don't do losing well
i) Everyone gets a trophy
ii) Story: explaining to my kids when they've lost

2) Today we are finishing our series on the Marks of Ownership
a) 6 of them total, in no particular order
b) Our leadership team developed these as intentional ways for us to own our faith
c) Recap last 4 marks (briefly summarize each)
i) Passionately pursuing Jesus
ii) Found people find people
iii) Gather to grow
iv) Life is better together
d) Our theme verse as a church is Luke 9:23
i) The verse right after is just as good
ii) Luke 9:24 ''For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it.''
iii) This is true literally
iv) This is true metaphorically

ii) Big idea: You can't lose something you don't own.
