1) Opening Comments
a) Greetings to all
b) Easter Offering
i) I want to explain something that is very complicated in the most uncomplicated way I know how... hang with me...
ii) We have made a decision to change up a part of the rhythm of our church
iii) For years and years we have taken up two special offerings each year
(1) One in which we ''give it all away''
(2) One in which we use to enhance the ministry of Central
iv) We have typically done one at Easter and one at Christmas
(1) The one at Easter is the one we have enhanced the ministry of Central with
(a) Last year we went in together to buy land in Queen Creek for our campus there
(2) The one at Christmas is the one we ''give it all away''
(a) Last year we gave money to Arizona Foster Care
(b) We also gave money to PreEmptive Love Ministries to help kids
v) This is awesome!!!!
(1) But at Christmas it also coincides with the Adopt a Family ministry...WHICH IS BECOMING A HUGE DEAL
(a) We adopted 1200 families last year!
(2) So... at Christmas we are OFF THE CHARTS...
(3) We got to thinking... WOULDN'T IT BE BETTER TO SPREAD THIS OUT OVER THE YEAR?
vi) So...
(1) We are going to split this so that we can be more focused on giving ourselves away YEAR ROUND.
(2) Beginning this year... WE ARE NOW GOING TO GIVE AWAY OUR EASTER OFFERING... and use the end of the year offering to enhance the ministry of Central.
(3) This year... we are partnering with FIRST RESPONDERS (local police and fire departments) and working with their charities to minister to children and families in need.
(4) Apparently... SUMMER IS AN INCREDIBLY CHALLENGING TIME
(a) So we are going to help feed them
(b) And we are going to help prepare them to go back to school
(c) AND THE TIME TO PREPARE TO DO THIS... IS NOW!!!
