1) Now that we are all depressed I'll close in prayer...
a) The sound of silence
i) Originally released in 1964
ii) More than 50 years old!
iii) ''People talking without speaking, People hearing without listening''
b) Garfunkel once summed up the song's meaning as ''the inability of people to communicate with each other... especially emotionally, so what you see around you are people unable to love each other.''
i) This was before social media and smartphones!
ii) I think it's a good way to address the 2 marks of ownership we have today
2) Week 3 of your journals
a) Title: The Sound of Silence
b) We are going to look at 2 more marks of owning our faith
i) We are in a series of how to own our faith
(1) Passionately pursuing Jesus
(2) Found people find people
ii) Studying 6 different marks of ownership
c) Big idea: Your faith grows best in relationship.
d) Which should cause us to wrestle with an initial question
e) Is your faith growing?
i) What do you believe differently about God from 5 years ago?
ii) I joke with my wife that I'm not the same guy she married
iii) What is something you've recently done because of God that you would have shocked you 5 years ago?
f) Open your bible to Acts 2:42-47
g) As a repeat from last week
i) God has something FOR you
ii) He isn't after something FROM you
3) Are you living in that?
a) Albert Woodfox, who was held in solitary confinement for more than 43 years, longer than any other prisoner in U.S. history, was released last week

ii) ''Isolated in a closed cell for 22 to 24 hours a day with virtually no human contact''
b) Can you imagine 43 years of solitary confinement?
i) I'm an introvert, and for a brief second that sounds cool, but even I have my limits!
ii) How much are you taking advantage of the community around you?
iii) Some of us choose our own solitary confinement ...
