1) Today is a big day
a) We not only finish The Story
b) We are also covering the most confusing book of the Bible!

2) We often get an apocalyptic fever
a) The Left Behind book series have become huge bestsellers
b) They made a movie, and a remake already
c) Last year the second one came out with Nicholas Cage
i) Picture - Left Behind
ii) Rotten Tomatoes rated it a 2%
iii) ''I am now relatively certain there is a Hell and it is a darkened theater with no doors showing Left Behind on a loop for eternity.'' Joshua Starnes
iv) Just so we are clear... those are fictional stories
3) Revelation 1:1-2 ''The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, who testifies to everything he saw-that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.''
a) This is not revelation of the end of history
b) This is a revelation of Jesus Christ
c) Most of us go into this book with the wrong idea

4) Revelation 1:3 ''Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.''
