1) Opening Thoughts
a) Welcome everybody!
b) I want to begin by telling you how proud I am of you all!!
i) One Million Meals!
(1) Actually, well over one million meals.
(2) I never want to underestimate what this church is capable of.
(3) To say that I am proud of you is a gross understatement.
ii) Leadership Summit
(1) We are so committed to this event that we set a huge audacious goal for us as a church to get 2650 leaders to attend this and get trained as leaders.
(2) We have blown by that number!!!
(3) We have sold out in Gilbert and we are about a hundred people away from being sold out in Mesa.
(4) If you don't want to miss this premier training event...sign up now!!!
iii) I don't have the words to tell you how much I love this church!
c) It's good to be back home!!!
i) A recap of what I have been up to
ii) My annual study leave
(1) A chance to step away from my weekly duties
(2) A tradition that was established many years ago.
(3) Getting away to see more clearly
iii) What do I do? I challenge myself to get better as a leader
(1) A whole lot of reading
(2) Visit other churches
(3) Attend conferences
(4) Meet with other pastors
(5) A lot of time spent with God
iv) The Four R's
(1) Reflection
(2) Research
(3) Recalibration
(4) Rest
d) Excited to be home... it's true... there really is no place like home!
i) Deeply appreciate the work of Jeremy and Scott
ii) We are blessed to have preachers of this caliber on our staff
iii) Let's just thank them one more time for their hard work!
