Big Idea: Only those who truly bother to listen are blessed to truly hear.
1) Opening Comments:
a) Greetings to All
b) Our Series: Thy Kingdom Come
2) Last Week:
a) If you were with us last week, we talked about what Vision is
i) Vision is the ability to see what is obvious to God.
ii) All through the OT God had been setting up the coming of Christ as King
iii) When Christ came, he clearly declared that the Kingdom had now shown up
iv) Many, many people had a hard time seeing it...
v) Many people today are also having a hard time seeing it... even some of us...
b) Jesus didn't come just to show... Jesus also came to tell
i) Remember ''Show and Tell'' in school?
(1) You'd bring with you something interesting
(2) You'd get a chance to pass along your understanding and your excitement to your friends.
ii) Jesus did this with the Kingdom
(1) To see what he showed, you simply had to keep your eyes open and watch.
(2) To hear what he had to tell, you had to listen.
iii) One of things that Jesus was confident of was that people didn't listen well.
c) So today...
i) We're going to talk about ''hearing''
