Big Idea: As the heart of the king goes, so goes the kingdom.

1) Opening Comments

b) We continue in our series: Thy Kingdom Come

i) We've been talking about the kingdom of Heaven

ii) Perhaps the most significant component of any kingdom is the king
himself.

iii) What about the king?

c) A very important concept:

i) Proverbs 4:23 ''Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.''
(1) You have to watch over your heart because as your heart goes... so your life goes.
(2) If your heart is good, your life is good.
(3) If your heart becomes corrupt, your life becomes corrupt
(4) Most of us would acknowledge we ''Get This''

ii) Today we want to wrestle with another dimension of this idea
(1) Since we're talking about Kings and kingdoms, we have to see something....
(2) Big Idea: As the heart of the king goes, so goes the kingdom.
(a) Take out you're your journal and write this down...
(b) This is the big idea we want to look at...
(c) Not only does is life of the king affected by his heart....but the ENTIRE KINGDOM is affected!!!
(3) Many different kings have been placed in power.... But are they worthy of the honor?
(4) Title: Worthy to Be King?
(a) I'm going to show you a few kings in the Bible and then I'm going to show you Jesus... and my prayer is that you walk out of here with no question in your minds that Jesus is indeed worthy to be king!

a) Israel wanted a king...

i) As the heart of the king goes, so goes the kingdom.

b) Saul was the first king
i) A total disaster!
ii) Wicked heart

c) David:

i) Acts 13:22 ''After removing Saul, he made David their king. God testified concerning him: 'I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.'''
