It seems like everyone is Running. We live in a fast-paced society and it feels like it's getting faster. Compared to now, 2 generations ago we were crawling, a generation ago, we were jogging, and now we are just in an all-out sprint! We don't need to wait any longer. Everything we want is right at our fingertips! We have instant access to anywhere in the world. We can get answers (sometimes not the right answers) to any questions we have almost instantly.

There is a Restlessness in today's world. The fast pace we are keeping at work or with technology makes it difficult to rest. If we do stop for a moment, we are still feeling it in our bodies. Life's momentum makes it hard to stop. It's like a person that runs a very long distance. At the end of his race, he can't just stop because his legs keep moving. As human beings, we are hit with so much information in one day that it is hard to turn the channel. Before we get a chance to process what we just heard or saw, we are hit with more. So, while we might stop physically, we are still going mentally. Our minds also must be trained to rest and stop running.

The antidote to running is stopping. JUST STOP! We need a STOP SIGN in our place of prayer. Bring the Stop Sign up on the big screen. I have STOP signs for everyone!

Shut out the noise

Tarry or Wait in God's presence

Open your heart to Him

Pray expectantly

If we never stop, we will never hear. If we never stop, we will never experience God's presence. If we never stop, we will never open our heart to Him. If we never stop, we will never pray.
Antidote to restlessness is rest. Rest is critical to our vitality. If we never rest, we will never get replenished, recharged, renewed.

COME TO CHRIST

If you have never truly come to Christ personally, today is your day to do so. Today is the day to stop running. Stop trying, stop competing, stop striving. Give him your life ...
