Trust - the Path to True Victory

Psalm 56
God showed me in my devotion time yesterday morning that I should turn to Psalm 56. When I read it at first, I was unimpressed (no impression on my heart). Then I began to read it repeatedly, and in many translations, and God began to show me that it was a Word for the church.
We all face struggles on a day-to-day basis. We live in a fallen world so we are up against the things in this world. We are God's people who are doing God's work so we are constantly under enemy attack. And we fight against our own flesh at times wanting to find comfort from the conflict. Are we letting fear about the future grip our hearts or are we activating the faith He has already given us? When the going gets tough, when we are faced with challenges, when we go through fiery trials, where do we find ourselves? In a place of anger, despair and depression? Or in a place of confident trust that He will come through for us? When we walk through the darkness, do we try to find our own way, or do we trust in His protection?
Let's read Psalm 56 together in the NLT version:
Psalm 56:1 O God, have mercy on me, for people are hounding me. My foes attack me all day long. 2 I am constantly hounded by those who slander me, and many are boldly attacking me. 3 But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in yo ...
