Today there is an obsession with the supernatural. Unfortunately it is not an obsession with the sovereign supernatural God of the Bible. The obsession is with the spiritual world and all we imagine it to be. There seems to be a preoccupation with the metaphysical - things beyond the physical - like vampires, witches, demons and even angels.
Historian Joseph Loconte notes that many people today are still obsessed with angels, particularly angelic beings who seem tailor-made to meet our every need. Dr. Loconte writes: Take, for example, Angels 1O1: An Introduction to Connecting, Working, and Healing with the Angels, written by metaphysician Doreen Virtue. In that book she informs us...
1. That, in contrast to the ideas of sin and guilt in some religious traditions, angels love every person unconditionally.
