I’ve done a little mini series which I have called the Good Book referring to the
Bible. The Bible is the Good Book. It is of course the Best Book. The Bible is the
greatest Book. The Bible is the Book of God. It is the Word of God. We have talked
about what the Bible is intended to do. Back in verse 15 Paul said, and that from a child
thou hast known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation. . .
that’s what the Bible is intended to do. It’s the only book that can tell a person how to go
to heaven. It’s the only book that can lead a person to know Christ as personal Savior.
So, the intention of the Bible is that we may be wise unto salvation.

Then, in the 16th verse we’ve spent talking about the inspiration of the Bible
where he says very specifically all Scripture is given by inspiration of God. That can be
said about no other book in existence except the Good Book, the Bible. The Bible is the
inerrant, infallible Word of God. It is breathed by the Spirit of God so that what we have
within the pages of our Bible is God’s Word to us. The intention of the Bible salvation,
the inspiration of the Bible all Scripture is given by inspiration of God, now we come to
the practical application of what I’ve been trying to share with you. that is the
implications of the Bible in terms of our daily life.

Notice he says in verse 16 that all Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable.
The word, profitable, means that it is useful. I want to talk to you about how the Bible is
useful for our life, and how we apply the Bible to the various areas of our life. he says in
verse 17, that (that is, in order to or for the purpose) the man of God may be perfect. The
word, perfect, means to be completely adequate, thoroughly furnished (fully equipped).
