1) Opening Comments
a) Greetings and welcome
i) Welcome to Central!
ii) Welcome to 2015!
(1) Doesn't it seem hard to believe that Y2K was 15 years ago?
(2) Life in flying by... enjoy it daily!
b) I want to begin by taking time to update all campuses on our ministry
i) A time for thanks and congratulations to you all!!!
ii) Christmas offering
(1) Our plea was... Let's give to...
(a) Benefit kids in the Arizona Foster Care System
(b) Benefit families and agencies who are helping kids with special needs
(c) Feed families in Darfur
(2) $349,000 was given on our five campuses!
(3) Thank you for being the kind of church that does this sort of thing!
iii) Adopt a Family
(1) Again, across our five campuses we asked you to take care of families
(2) The most families we have ever taken care of before was just over 523. We did this last year (up from 440 the year before)
(3) This year we adopted 767 families.
(4) These 767 families included:
(a) 18 foster group homes across the valley
(b) 30 refugee families from Central's refugee resettlement ministry
(c) 35 kinship foster families
(d) Families from our local schools in need
(e) Central families in need
(5) All told... we adopted over 3000 kids!!!!
iv) Land purchase in Queen Creek
(1) What God is doing in our church is awesome!
(a) Central started 56 years ago with the intention of ministering to people in Mesa and did so with just a handful of people.
(b) Central has now grown to one church currently meeting in five different cities on five different campuses.
(2) God is moving in our church!
(a) This past week of Christmas we had just short of 26,000 people join us for the worship, the teaching and the celebration of Christmas!
