On September 19, 2016 an exact replica, down to the smallest detail, of the arch which the Romans had erected for worshipers
to enter the temple of Baal was unveiled in New York City.
It was unveiled in the park across from City Hall with dignitaries
and the media in attendance. The large sheet was pulled off the arch to the sound of Middle Eastern instruments and to the applause of those who were gathered there. The sign of Baal
has appeared in America, the sign of a nation that had once
known God and has now fallen away from him.

For Israel the god they worshiped called Baal was the god to whom they sacrificed their children, before whom they practiced sexual
immorality and called good ''evil'' and evil ''good.'' Baal was the god in whose name they persecuted the prophets and the righteous.

In pictures Baal appears with the body of a man with the head of an ox. In reality it was the devil whom they worshiped. In fact one of the names for Satan, Beelzebub (Matt. 10:25; 12:24) is derived from the name Baal which means ''Lord of the flies.''

No one in America would admit to worshiping Baal, but the truth is our culture has turned away from God and practices the same
kind of evil things which were part of the worship of Baal. Since 1973 more than 57 million babies have been aborted for personal
convenience. Sexual immorality is not only accepted it is now celebrated and promoted upon our society and our children so
much that if you speak out against it you are called intolerant.

Elijah challenged the people of his day to choose between trusting the true God and living immoral lives by worshiping Baal. God calls us to the same challenge in a society to lives to please them selves without any regard for what pleases and honors God.
