Series: Standing for the Truth

I Kings 19:1-8
Our emotions often influence our thoughts and control our actions.
We act out how we feel by what we say and by what we do. That is why Paul wrote, ''In your anger do not sin'' (Ephesians 4:26).
Another emotion we experience is discouragement and
we can become discouraged for many different reasons:
1. Someone lets us down by not doing what they said they would.
2. Things don't turn out the way we had hoped they would.
3. Life is not fair and our good deeds are not recognized.
4. God's moral standards are being changed by society.
They call good evil and evil good (Isaiah 5:20).
The greater our expectations the greater our discouragement when things do not turn out we hoped. When we become discouraged we want to run away from the problem or just give up and quit.
