1) INTRODUCTION
a) Welcome and Merry Christmas
i) We are so honored to have you celebrate the birth of Christ with us tonight
ii) Some of you are with us every week, others are our very special guests today
iii) Whichever you are... you are very welcome here.
b) Before you leave tonight, we want to give a gift to each and every family here tonight.

(1) We want to invite you to join us for a new series we are beginning on the first weekend in January.
(2) It's a journey that we're going on as a church; we would love to have you be a part of it with us

(1) Wouldn't you love to pray in such a way that you were confident that God would respond?
(2) If there was a secret to prayer, wouldn't you want to know it?
(3) This is what we are going to talk about in this series!
iv) The author, Mark Batterson, will be our special guest on February 8-9

i) Most people I've talked say they have a hard time understanding the Bible
(1) They say to me, exasperatedly, ''It's just too complicated to grasp!''
(2) They share that they've tried to read it and they just couldn't ''get it''
ii) Most people would say that, while they know the details of the Christmas story, they just don't understand how it ''fits'' into the rest of the Bible.
