1) What Gets You Excited?
a) Going to the Fiesta Bowl
i) Dressing up in your team's colors
ii) Screaming, shouting, high-fiving strangers
(1) We call these people ''fans''
(2) ''Fans'' is simply shorthand for ''fanatic''
iii) Fanatics have a common love, a common goal and a shared vision....
(1) This is their team
(2) They want them to win...more than anything else
iv) Watching the enthusiasm wane as the game goes on if it isn't going their way (Kansas State)
b) Where and when do you ''let it all hang out?''

i) Seems to me most people don't want to get too ''fanatical'' about their faith
ii) Don't want to be seen as weird, you know!
iii) Let's just ''play it safe'' and ''tone it down''
iv) Don't want to live too dangerously
e) The problem with indifference and apathy
i) The article about the guy rafting the Zambezi river in Zimbabwe
(1) In America, the highest class rapid you can raft is a class 5
(2) On this river, there are 7-8's
(3) The guide talked to them about what to do when the raft flips (not if, but when)
(4) Don't swim toward the calm water...stay in the rapids
(5) The crocs are waiting for you in the calm water
ii) How many of us prefer the calm waters in our faith...and how many of us are eaten alive by it?
