Movement Three: Gathering (3 of 5)
Series: Christmas Symphony
Cal Jernigan
Romans 6:23
1) Christmas
a) Invite people
i) A tremendous opportunity to reach out to your friends, family, coworkers and neighbors!
ii) As a courtesy to them, please don't wait until the very last minute!
(1) Be intentional!
(2) Be bold!
b) One service... offered 19 times
i) We have 11 regular weekend services
ii) We simply couldn't do all of them and then follow it with another service for the nearly 20,000 people we will have attend our Christmas services
iii) So ALL SERVICES from Saturday night to Monday night are our CHRISTMAS SERVICE
c) A few asks:
i) As much as possible, I want to encourage all of you who consider yourselves Centralites to attend a ''regular'' weekend service
ii) The Monday night services will most likely be slammed with guests... encourage you to avoid it
iii) If I can be so bold.... Please park at the far ends of the parking lot and walk in... This will accomplish two things
(1) It will give you some much needed exercise to help you work off the Christmas calories you have been inhaling against your better judgment
(2) It will make it easier on our guests who aren't sure where they are to go and will be walking around disoriented
d) Further... Come early
i) I would encourage you to be in your seat 15 minutes before the services begins...this will help to get you into the right frame of mind
ii) The actual service begins with something very cool and I would hate for you to miss it.
2) Where We've Been: SYMPHONY
a) The first movement of the Symphony is ''CREATING''
i) God made the planet to be inhabited
ii) It is a very hospitable place to live, if you so choose to live on this planet
iii) The big idea behind CREATING: Everybody hears the symphony! God blesses those who believe, and God blesses those who don't
iv) God has more than just your ''existence'' in mind; he wants you play a part in the symphony
