2) About Becoming Prepared

a) Appreciating the preparation I was given for the ministry...

b) Have you ever really stopped to break down how much preparation you have had?

i) Education:
(1) Elementary school
(2) Jr. High school
(3) High School
(4) Bible college
(5) Seminary

ii) Work Experience:
(1) All my ''early'' jobs
(a) Dipping ice cream
(b) Working as a mechanic
(c) Working as a security guard
(2) Youth Ministry in other churches
(3) Youth Ministry experience in this church
(4) All the training, coaching, mentoring, correction

c) Before any of this mattered... other skills had to be developed:

i) You had to learn physical skills
(1) To walk
(2) To talk

ii) You had to learn communication skills
(1) To speak
(2) To read
(3) To write

iii) You had to learn social skills
(1) What's appropriate to say and do
(2) What's not appropriate to say and do

iv) You had to learn functional skills
(1) To add... subtract...multiply and divide
(2) To drive, or ride a bike, or figure out how to get on the right bus, or how to thumb a ride

d) In a very real sense...
i) A lot of life is ''preparation''
ii) How well you prepare either makes or breaks you
