The strength of your faith is revealed by what frightens you

1) Handling Animals

a) Watching people handle wild animals

b) These are some of my favorite shows
i) Steve Irwin - The Crocodile Hunter
ii) Ernie Brown - The Turtle Man (Call of the Wildman)

c) How do you know?
i) What to touch? What not to touch?
ii) How to handle? How not to handle?

d) There is something truly ''fearless'' about these guys

e) I would LOVE to hang out with these guys and to learn from them
i) This is what you do!
ii) This is what you never do!

2) Impressed by Jesus

a) Hanging out with Jesus

i) Watching him do amazing miracles (I'd just be amazed)
(1) Walking on water
(2) Feeding thousands of people with nothing
(3) Healing withered body parts
(4) Casting out demons

ii) Showing compassion in incredible ways
(1) Touching people that others would never touch (lepers)
(2) Talking to people who others shun (woman at well)

iii) Listening to him pray these amazing prayers
(1) Praying with authority
(2) Praying with such intimacy with the Father

b) But I think I'd be most impressed with... Jesus' absolute and utter sense of fearlessness!

i) In handling people
(1) The conversations he would have
(a) How many times have you said ''I'll tell you what I would have said!''
(b) Yet how many times have you failed to say a thing?
(2) The confrontations he would have
(a) I think those who watched him were just ''stunned'' at times
(b) ''I can't believe he just said that!''

ii) In handling his mission
(1) (I must go to Jerusalem where he will be crucified)
(2) In the Garden of Gethsemane he could see the mob coming for him.

c) Where we left Jesus last time

i) At a meal in the home of a Pharisee, who invited Jesus but also his Pharisee friends
(1) Do you imagine this might have been a hostile environment?
(2) Like where you wear your team jersey to th ...
