Big Idea: The Kingdom-What looks like nothing, will soon become something, that will eventually change everything!
1) Jesus' Favorite Subject
a) So here's the question: What do you like to talk about?
i) What's your favorite subject to discuss?
(1) Politics?
(2) The news?
(3) Your investments?
(4) Sports?
(5) Cars?
(6) The opposite sex?
(7) The latest gossip?
ii) Why do you talk about this so much? (It's not rocket science!)
iii) You talk about what you think about!
iv) Jesus said ''...the mouth speaks of what the heart if full of.''
(1) What's happening inside us is what gets expressed outside
(2) This is just plain true!
(a) This is true of you
(b) This is true of me
(c) It was true of Jesus
b) What did Jesus talk about?
i) He talked about all kinds of things:
(1) He talked about heaven
(2) He talked about hell
(3) He talked about prayer
(4) He talked a whole lot about money
ii) But what did he talk about most?
(1) He talked about ''the Kingdom''
(a) What it was like
(b) How to become members of it
(c) How to live as members of it
(2) Why did he talk so much about it?
(a) Because this is what he thought about most!
(b) This is what preoccupied his mind
(c) When he would day-dream, he would day dream about this.
(d) When he dreamed at night... I think this is what he dreamed about.
(3) Whenever he thought about anything... it was in relation to the KINGDOM
(a) When he thought about PEOPLE, he thought about them in relation to the kingdom.
(b) When he thought about LIFE, he thought about it as in relation to the kingdom.
(c) When the thought about THINGS, he thought about them as in relation to the kingdom.
iii) Something You Must Understand: The Kingdom is bigger than the church
(1) Jesus talked about both the kingdom and the church.
(a) The church is not the kingdom.
(b) The church is merely an expression of the ki ...
