Luke 12
1) Welcome!
a) For those of you who are newer to Central my name is Jeremy and I'm the executive pastor of our Creative Arts department
b) Last week we had 309 baptisms at our 5 campuses!
c) Open your Bibles to Luke 12

ii) The men listening suddenly became deeply interested in God's Word!
2) We are going to look at a passage that informs us to be ready for the second coming of Jesus

(2) Buy that sports car we always wanted
(3) Get front row tickets to see our favorite sports team
(4) Quit the diet

(3) Never got to be accomplished in your career or get that promotion
(4) Never got to enjoy retirement
b) Big idea: Our attitude about Christ's return shows us the maturity of our faith.

ii) We need wisdom if it doesn't happen in our lifetime
c) Luke is written about 50 years after the death and resurrection of Jesus
i) There were many people who thought He should have already returned
ii) There were others who were wondering if it would happen at all
