1) On the Road Again

c) Jesus is moving intentionally

i) Luke 9 Jesus begins to move

ii) Luke 9:51 ''As the time approached for him to be taken up to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem.''
(1) He is heading to Jerusalem... confidently
(2) He is heading to Jerusalem...purposefully

iii) He knows exactly why he is going there

iv) There is a lot of teaching that is going to take place between here and there, but the countdown clock is on

d) You are invited to follow deliberately

i) Being a disciple of Jesus being a follower
(1) Where he goes, we go.
(2) What he does, we do

ii) Luke 9:62 ''Jesus replied, 'No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.'''

iii) This isn't for the uncommitted or the faint of heart

iv) Following Jesus is something you have to MAKE UP YOUR MIND regarding

(a) Some documents say one number, others say the other

(a) Most would agree that this is the number of Gentile nations at the time of Christ.
(b) It would coordinate with the ''table of nations'' found in Genesis 10

iv) This is the ''advance'' team for Jesus
(1) These people would arrive before Jesus arrived.
(2) They are like the ''warm up band''
(a) The warm up band isn't the reason the people have gathered
(b) They are there to make the people more receptive the ''star''
(c) They get them ready so that once the real thing hits the stage, they are ready
