God's Blessing for the Journey (6 of 7)
Series: Ezra
Robert Dawson
Ezra 7:6-10, 27-28; 8:21-31

They say one of the hardest things to do in life is to build. Build what? Anything.

1. It is difficult to build a business, home, building, bank account, career, marriage or family.

2. Building takes a lot of hard work, especially when you start on the ground floor from scratch.

3. The same is true in the life of a church. 4. It is difficult to plant a church and start a new ministry and work but it is even more difficult to revitalize one that has lost its way and ability to dream.

It is hard to start and build but it is even harder to step in when things have stalled and fallen apart and get them moving again. This is the task given to Ezra. He was called on finish or at least carry on what was started. Ezra was a man who experienced success and knew the blessings of God on his life.

In looking at Ezra's story maybe we can find some valuable lessons for us in our story. I would wager that in some area of life we have stalled whether it be our marriage, parenting, job, education ...
