A little boy forgot his lines in the church's Christmas play. When it was his cue to utter the lines, ''No room in the inn,'' he instead said, ''I'm sorry, Mary and Joseph, there is no room in the Inn, but we've got room at our house if you want to come home with me.''

The words ''No Room'' seem to be a common theme that runs through the life of Jesus. From the moment of His earthly arrival, where there was ''no room'' in an inn, to the beginning of His earthly ministry when:
(John 1: 11) ''He came unto his own, but his own received him not.''

I want to take a different look at the Christmas story this year, by looking at the ''UN''-usuals of Christmas. In the scene, we are all family with Mary, the wise men, Herod, and of course the Bethlehem baby, Jesus, but I want us to consider those who are often overlooked in the drama.

I want to begin by examining the one who may have operated the Bethlehem Bed and Breakfast, and the opportunity that was missed in the words, ''no room in the inn.''

Was it the hotel manager's fault that there was ''no room?'' Was it Mary and Joseph's fault because they may have arrived late, or forgot to call ahead and book a reservation?

Regardless of who, or what, was to blame, the great tragedy was that the inn keeper missed a, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Wouldn't you think it would be great PR to be able to announce that the Son of God, the Savior of the World, the King of Kings had been born in one of your hotel rooms?

As we examine the phrase, ''no room in the inn,'' and take a look at the ''UN''-fortunate hotel of Christmas, I want you to consider that there were many others places which had ''no room'' for Jesus.
