Back a few months ago when hurricane, Irene, devastated the Northeastern coast the people there experienced food, water, electrical and gas shortages. Those things were necessary and indispensable to life. All of those things were necessary to carrying out the daily functions and routines of life.
Those shortages brought a lot of fear, uncertainty and chaos to the daily lives of those citizens. There are just some things that are necessary and needed in life in order for us to function.
In every organization and group there are also things that are necessary and needed in order for them to function properly.
Unfortunately one of the main ingredient so desperately needed and in short supply these days that is absolutely indispensable to overall success and welfare of any organization or government or community structure or family structure is in short supply today. There appears to be a tremendous shortage of leaders in our world.
Leadership is important. Leadership is indispensable. A company, an organization or a people rarely rise above the level of its leadership. The church is no different. Hosea 4.9- Like people like priest
Churches today are starved for good leadership. There is an inseparable link between the character of a church and the quality of its leadership.
1. The burden that falls on the shoulders of leaders in any place is enormous.
2. The burden placed on the shoulders of those who are spiritual leaders, especially those who lead the church is tremendous because those who lead the church are tasked with more than simply looking at numbers and bottom lines.
3. We are told in Hebrews 13.17 - Obey your leaders, and submit to them; for they keep watch over your souls, as those who will give an account.
