2 Corinthians 11:16-31
If you have your Bible, please turn to 2nd Corinthians chapter 11. We're been in 2nd Corinthians for quite a while now, going through verse by verse and looking at what the Lord has to say. And we found that 2nd Corinthians is a very personal letter; the most personal of all Paul's letters. And in this letter he defends himself because the false teachers had maligned his character and his ministry and got the Corinthians to believe negative things about Paul, just a horrible thing. And so he's forced to defend himself. He's forced to, maybe in terms that we can understand, give the Corinthians his resume so that they know who he really is.
Now all of us, probably, have had an opportunity sometime in life to make a resume and work up a resume. And resumes are important when you're looking for a job. That's what they ask you for, ''Can you give me a resume?'' And some people are smart in how they do their resume, and some people are not very good with doing resumes.
I ran across a genuine resume. This isn't made up. This guy actually sent this in to a company where he wanted to work:
His objective: To claw my way to the top using any means necessary, but then be a fair and just ruler and bring your company to new heights, or whatever.
His personal attributes: Cat-like reflects. Now you see me. Meow, you don't. He says, ''I possible have ESP. I know when to hold them, and I know when to fold them. I admit a pleasant aroma. I have a horse-like laugh, but that's optional. Extremely proficient in Marco Cart for Super Nintendo. 29 years old, but have the facial hair of a 13 year-old. Can eat a lot at one sitting. Oh, also, I can moon-walk quite well.'' That's his personal attributes.
Experience: I'm quite experienced with a McDonald's menu. He said, ''One time I rode a horse, but it bucked me off. I was injured and ended up gaining like 30 pounds. But ...
