If you have your Bible, please turn to 2nd Corinthians chapter 11. We're going through 2nd Corinthians verse by verse. And tonight, I want to talk to you about this subject: Humility and Exaltation. The end of chapter 11 and chapter 12, very different because there is humility and there is exaltation, tremendous exaltation in chapter 12.

I heard a story when I was in college. I've never forgotten it. A friend of mine told me this story. It's a story about a dog, and he was just a mutt, and he lived on the other side of the tracks. And there wasn't anything attractive about him. He's just a lowly mutt. Well, one day he made his way across the tracks into the very ritzy neighborhood. And so, as he was walking through this ritzy neighborhood, he came across this chain-link fence. And on the other side of the fence there were two French poodles. And they were all fixed up, you know, like they do with French poodles. And they even had their nails painted. And they were so arrogant, the French poodles. And they looked at the mutt and with a what-are-you-doing-here type attitude. And one of them kind of pranced by and looked at him, and she said, ''My name is Mimi, M-I-M-I.'' And then he just looked at her. And then the other dog came by and pranced around and looked at him, and she said, ''My name is Fifi, F-I-F-I.'' They said, ''What's your name?'' He said, ''My name is Fido, P-H-I-D-E-A-U-X.'' Humility and exaltation.

The apostle Paul is defending himself. That's one of my favorite jokes. You guys maybe didn't get it. You'll get it later. You think, Man, that was funny. You just have to tell it yourself over and over.
