1 Corinthians 3:1-7
All right, I got to ask you a question. Is there anything that you can think of that is more precious than a little baby, maybe your own baby, or a grandbaby, or even a neighbor's baby? So long as you don't have to maybe take care of him or her. But, you know, a little baby is one of the most precious things that a mind can comprehend. And we had a baby come into our home on July 4, Emmy Rae Budzilowski. We call July 4th Emmy-pendence Day. We have a picture of little Emmy. There she is. And she's 8 months old now. And she's just changed Jill and Jay's life. And she's changed life, for Debbie and me, because she just steals out hearts away. And there's just something about a baby. We have another picture of a baby. I don't know whose kid this is, a fat little guy and happy, and in his diaper. I don't know how old he is, but you know at that age, let's face it, a baby, what can they do? They can't do much. I'm excited about Emmy getting older because I'm not a super baby guy. I do a lot better once they get a little older and can kind of respond more. And that little guy, he probably can't do a lot, but he can smile. And he makes messes, he can't feed himself, can't do anything but we love babies.
Now how about if you had a baby like this? If you had somebody like Larry, let's say, and he was in diapers and just a fat little guy like that and he's 66. He won't do the yard now, that's not so cute anymore. You know, the other little guy was so cute, but Larry in diapers, never growing up, still on the bottle, with his rattle, with his pacifier, not a cute thing. Spiritually, that's the way so many are in church. They don't ever grow up.
Now we love little babies, and we're excited when brand new people come to know Christ. We don't expect a lot of things from people as soon as they come into the, the spiritual world, as soon as they're ...
