1 Corinthians 14:20-40
If you have your Bible, please turn to 1st Corinthians chapter 14. We’re going to be looking at verses 20 through 40 tonight.
I heard about a man. He was driving his car, and he had a flat tire. And he happened to have a flat tire right in front of a mental asylum. And so he pulls over and he gets out his jack and he jacks up the car. And he undoes the bolts and he puts them down. And he is messing with getting the other tire off. And I don’t have any lug nuts. And there was one of the guys that was inside the compound there, and he was looking through the fence, and he was watching the whole thing. And he could tell the guy didn’t know what to do. And so he said to him, he said, “Hey, mister.” He said, “Why don’t you do this.” He said, “Why don’t you take one lug nut off each of the three remaining tires and then you can have three lug nuts on every tire. Then you can drive to a service station and then solve your problem.” The guy’s like, wow, that’s a great idea. I wonder why I didn’t think of that. And he looked at the guy and he goes, “Man, that was awesome.” He goes, “Why are you in there, anyway?” He said, “Well, I’m in here because I’m crazy, not stupid!”

Paul leveled that charge against the church at Corinth when he said in verse 23 of chapter 14, “If, therefore, the whole church should assemble together and all speak in tongues, and ungifted men or unbelievers enter, will they not say that you are mad?” That you are crazy? They won’t understand. And 1st Corinthians chapter 14, verse 20 through verse 40, speaks of the fact ...
