I think every piece of equipment I own is currently broken or has been broken in the last two weeks. I am a horrible mechanic and a poor excuse for a handyman. Let the sympathy for my wife and family as well as the snickers begin. I hate to say it, the truth hurts, but I am pretty much useless in those areas. For those of you who make a living fixing, repairing and rebuilding you should stop right now and give thanks to God for people like me. We keep you in business. We help feed and clothe your families. We also keep you laughing and give you reasons to feel good about yourselves, at our expense of course.

Something I have noticed is that things in life have a tendency to break down, wear down and wear out. It is an inevitable fact of life. I have also noticed that neglect and lack of attention and care hasten the process dramatically.

1. If we actively care for the things we have they last longer and run better.
2. If we keep oil changed, filters cleaned, houses washed, caulked painted, wood sealed, carpets cleaned and equipment serviced helps delay, reverse or put off the inevitable and natural process of decay, corruption and breakage.

In life things do not naturally progress from disorder to order. They do not naturally progress from chaos to calm. They only way order comes from disorder and calm from chaos is if some influence is exerted or inserted into the current process of decline and decay.

What is true in the physical is also true in the spiritual. What is true in relation to things is also true in relation to people. What is true in a mechanical system is also true in a societal system. What is true on a micro-level with things like lawnmowers and houses is also true on a macro-level with issues of justice, freedom, liberty, morality, peace and on and on the list goes.
