The Saddest Words of Christmas, 'No Room'
Donald Cantrell
Luke 2:7
Luk 2:7 KJV - And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
I - The Thoughtless Incident
II - The Troubling Indictment
III - The Tainting Indorsement
Theme: ''Bethlehem had no room for Jesus, do you?''
A minister received a Christmas card with a note in it from a lady in his congregation. He said she was very complimentary about his preaching, and compared him with Billy Graham. She finished by writing, ''I think you are one of the really great preachers of all time.''
Later that day, when he showed the note to his wife, she asked, ''Who is that woman?'' He replied, ''She is a very intelligent woman in the congregation who loves great preaching.'' He then asked his wife, ''How many great preachers do you suppose there really are in the world?'' She replied, ''One less than you think''.
Christmas season makes us think of shopping. That brings to mind an older couple who are always holding hands. When I asked him why he always holds his wife's hand, he said, ''When I let go, she shops.''
LOVE ONE ANOTHER...?
A story from the Peanut's cartoons - you know - with Snoopy and Charlie Brown:
Its Christmas time and Lucy comes in where Charlie Brown is standing and says, ''Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown. `Tis the season of peace on earth and good will toward men. Therefore, I suggest we forget all our differences and love one another.''
Charlie Brown, whose face lights up at this, says, ''That's wonderful, Lucy. I'm so glad you said that. But tell me, do we have to love each other only at this season of the year? Why can't we love each other all year long?''
Lucy retorts, ''What are you, a fanatic or something?''
