Upsetting a City (10 of 34)
Series: Acts

Acts 5:12-42

It takes a lot to upset an entire city but that is exactly what the disciples and that first century church managed to do. That church had upset the balance of life in Jerusalem. There was an undeniable and unmistakable move of God taking place.

As we observe the impact that church was having for the Gospel it should force us to ask ourselves what were they doing, what were they committed to and why were they so different from so many of our churches today?

5. Her friend said, ''That's good news.'' She said, ''No, it is bad news. It burned to the ground.''
6. Her friend said, ''Well, that's bad news.'' She said, ''No, it is good news. He was in it.''
7. She said, ''Well, that's bad news.'' She said, ''No. It is good news. He left everything to me.''

As we continue to advance through this wonderful book I am struck by the fact that the good news of the Gospel is never bound or stopped by the bad news of life. It survive ...
