THEY WOULDN'T BEND!

I'm going to pick up at Daniel 3:13. We are going to study
13:18. I have preached an entire message on this third chapter of
Daniel. I had three main points in this passage - they wouldn't bow,
they wouldn't bend and they wouldn't burn. At this particular time, I
have broken each of these messages down and I'm preaching a complete
message on all three of these. The reason I'm doing this is because I
want to really, really get a message to our young people. These
message have been prepared with our young people in mind. If our
young people will determine early in their Christian life to be
faithful to the Lord, not to bow down to the devil's images of gold,
not to bend to the pressures of the world to conform, they will have
the same experience of the three Hebrew young people. God will
preserve them, God will bless them and God will use them. That's why
I'm stretching it out. I'm trying to get every lesson I can discover
in these verses. I want to instill these lessons in the hearts and
minds and spirits of our young people.
Let's look at the second section of chapter 3 - they wouldn't
bend. Verse 13. '"Then Nebuchadnezzar in his rage and fury commanded
to bring Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. Nebuchadnezzar spake and
said unto them, Is it true, oh Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. Do now
we serve my gods nor worship the golden image which I have set up.
Now if you be ready that at what time you hear the sound of the
cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of
music fall down and worship the image which I have made well. But if
you worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a

burning fiery furnace. Who is that God that shall deliver you out of
my hands. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego answered and said unto the
king, oh, Nebuchadnezzar we are not careful to answer thee in this
matter. If it be so our god whom we serve is able to deliver us ...
