Worship is Praise; yet it is far more than singing!
Worship is complete Surrender to God…Fully Surrendered!
Romans 12:1-2 (NASB)
1 Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
Worship: latreia-service. To perform sacred services
The Sacred Service in the Old Testament was the offering of animal or food on the Altar.
That is the picture here…
An animal was placed on the altar and killed then burned.
We are not to be a dead sacrifice but a living one.
We are to see ourselves as completely belonging to God.
This is real worship: all that we are and all that we have and all that we do are for Him!
Worship is from the Heart
John 4:23-24 (NASB)
23 ''But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.
24 ''God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.''
Worship: Proskuneo-to do reverence to. To bow down. To Prostrate before.
We do this when our hearts are laid down before Him-and are completely for Him.
Jesus is clear that God is seeking after people who would do this in Spirit and in Truth.
This means with integrity
This means inwardly and outwardly.
This happens because it is born from a heart of love; not a religious ritual.
Worship is to come from the heart…
