Luke 9:57-62
A simple gesture can make a priceless impact…
Kasey Simmons loves to make people smile.
He was in a grocery store and saw a woman who was clearly despondent.
He asked if she was okay and why she was so sad.
She did not tell him…but he joked with her, told her she was beautiful and paid for her groceries ($17.00)…then she smiled.
He went to work at Applebee's when another woman sat in his area. She only ordered a flavored water which came to 37 cents. He still treated her great!
When he came to get the bill he found out she had tipped him $500.00! and left a note on a napkin. (show pictures)
The tip came from the woman's daughter he showed kindness to.
Simmons did not know that the woman was so sad because it was the third anniversary of loosing her husband…the saddest day of the year for her.
The note said…
''On the most depressing day of the year…you made my mother's day wonderful.'' ''You insisted on paying, told her she was a very beautiful woman… I have not seen this woman smile this much since Dad died.''
CNN reported on this and said this simple gesture made a priceless impact.
An act of kindness can do that.
An act of kindness even makes the news!!!
What if we all did that?
What if we all in unity went out and showed love and kindness?
It would change this area…
It would be a clear and tangible way to show the Love of Christ.
If we did, we would truly be 24:7 imitators of Christ.
Being a 24:7 Imitator of Christ means we are Christ-Like.
It is the greatest life you could ever live…to be like Jesus.
This is where you find the power of God and the promises of God to be true in your life.
Romans 8:28-29 (NASB)
28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
29 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, s ...
