Yet God is the God of the impossible.
Today I want you to get ready to experience the impossible…
God can work with you and in you to tame the tongue
There are three practical keys to taming the tongue

Alice in Wonderland…
''Alice laughed: ''There's no use trying,'' she said; ''one can't believe impossible things.''
''I daresay you haven't had much practice,'' said the Queen. ''When I was younger, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.''
James tells us this is an area we all stumble in…
James 3:2 (NASB)
2 For we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body as well.
I know that I have stumbled in this area…
Time I hugged girl at football game
Time I saw Dena who was pregnant and I said… ''you are so huge!'' and then she cried.
God is the God of the impossible and He can show us how to tame our tongue…
We do have a responsibility to do our part in having God take control over our what we say and how we speak…
James 1:26 (NASB)
26 If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man's religion is worthless.
We are called to bridle our tongues…
This means we need to discipline ourselves to pause before we speak.
This means that it can be done
This means that it should be done
A bridle doesn't make a wild horse tame instantly, but over time
When we practice three what God tell us to then we will come to a place where more and more we will have trained our tongue: governed out speech.
