Romans 1:18-32
Last week we saw that Romans is about the Gospel
The Gospel is knowing Jesus as Savior and Lord which creates Transformational change
When we embrace the Gospel; then we have the power of God
The Gospel is the Good News of the Righteousness of God in you.
This week we look at why we desperately need Jesus as Savior and Lord!
The good news is needed because there is so much bad news.
M Scott Peck: when he encountered evil in a hideous form…
Made him cry out ''please let there be a loving God''
Many of you cry out like M. Scott Peck…please God let there be a God…
When you see the news
When you watch a parent scream at their child
When you hear of a marriage breaking up
So if there is a loving God, why is there so much evil in the world?
We all have been asked that question.
You need to know the answer
I am going to equip you today to be able to answer this question.
So if there is a loving God, why is there so much evil in the world?
1. The world suppresses the truth.
God is angry at the evil in the world.
Romans 1:18 (NASB)
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
God is angry at what we are doing and who we have become…
Angry at …
All-ungodliness
All unrighteousness
Suppress the Truth in unrighteousness
We are filled with wickedness and destruction
Children are abused
People are trafficked … both boys and girls
Pains and tragedy of poverty is ignored…
Billions starve and in the US our dogs are overweight
Inwardly and outwardly we can be very wicked
We are very wicked
Proverbs 11:9 (NASB)
9 With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor, But through knowledge the righteous will be delivered.
Is this you? You know that it is!!!
We suppress the truth…
God is not welcome in our work ...
