Intimacy is a gift from God and a gift you give to one another…
Nothing will add to your self-image more than knowing your spouse desires you.
Almost nothing is more hurtful than being aware your spouse does not want you.

Principle of Intimacy
Genesis 2:24-25 (NASB)
24 For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.
25 And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.
Sexual Intimacy is Communication
God made man and woman to fit together
This is physically but far more than physically
We are to come together in a complete union
Physically
Emotionally
Mentally
Spiritually
God speaks of this in Song of Solomon
Song of Solomon 5:1 Eat friends, drink and imbibe deeply O lovers.
Imbibe: shakar-to become drunk; intoxicated.
We will see in Proverbs 5 that God's design for intimacy is to take over you whole body, mind, emotions and more just like when someone is drunk.
When you are drunk you under the control of something else…God wants this to be a wonderful experience that takes you to another place!!!!
Sexual intimacy is to be one of the deepest forms of communication you experience.
One of the words used to describe sexual intimacy is ''to know'' each other…
Genesis 4:1 (NASB)
1 Now the man had relations with his wife Eve, and she conceived and gave birth to Cain, and she said, ''I have gotten a manchild with the help of the LORD.''
Relations: yada-to know, to become known. To know by experience.
When we do this the way God intended then we should experience empathy.
The deepest connection possible.
