Revelation 1:3 (NASB)
3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and heed the things which are written in it; for the time is near.
Revelation 22:7 (NASB)
7 ''And behold, I am coming quickly. Blessed is he who heeds the words of the prophecy of this book.''

We need to read and heed!

The Author: John the Apostle

John was one of the Apostles-the one whom Jesus loved.
- Tradition tells us John was put in a vat of boiling oil yet survived with no harm whatsoever.
- Domitian then exiles to the Island of Patmos where He gets this Revelation from Jesus.

The Outline of the Book of Revelation

Revelation 1:19 (NASB)
19 ''Therefore write the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will take place after these things.
What he has seen
- Vision of Jesus: Chapter 1
Things which are
- The state of the seven Churches: Chapters 2-3
The things which will take place after these things
- What will take place in the future: Chapter 4-22
- Note it is things which will take place

Things you have seen: Rev. 1 Vision of Jesus.
