The Sermon on the Amount

Matthew 5:3-12

There are no better preachers around than our black brethren. When they preach -- they have a romantic affair with the congregation. The preacher says something -- and the people talk back to him.

The preacher was explaining how the church needed to grow and prosper.
He said, ''Now church -- we need to learn to walk.''
The people said -- ''Let'er walk!''
''Now church we to learn to run.''
The people said -- ''Let'er run!''
''Now church we to learn to fly.''
The people said -- ''Let'er fly!''
''And it cost money to fly!''

If you served in the armed forces -- you have pledged.
If you have bought a home -- you have pledged.
If you have credit cards -- you have pledged.
If you have a checking account -- you have pledged.

That is not the message the Bible presents. We are called citizens of the Kingdom of God. There are many wonderful analogies presented in Scripture to show Christ and His people.

We see:
Bride and Groom
Building and Foundation
Head and Bo ...
