Great to see you today, Debbie and I had a very special weekend last weekend in Des Moines, Iowa with married people 632 total. And we were able to share marriage principles, and we were able to share the gospel with them, and we had 23 decisions for Christ as a result of last weekend. And we give the Lord praise for that (applause). And we have a session on Sundays where we talk. We separate out the men and women. Debbie talks to the ladies about how to be a good wife and how to be a good mom. And then I talk to the guys. Typically, I'm with another guy speaker, and so I talk about how to be a good husband, and he talks about how to be a good dad. And that whole session is an hour and 45 minutes. And the speaker that I was speaking with, he had had an injury to his brain some years ago and he said, ''Jeff, I get tired out by the time Sunday rolls around, so I can't do that talk.'' So I had an hour and a half to speak all by myself, and I was thinking, Man, that's a long time. And I went over by 2 minutes. It's kind of amazing. So they're real particular on don't go over.?And I've been working on getting shorter, and they wanted me to go an hour and 45. So I think I'm shooting today for an hour and 30, so you'll be happy to note that. But I appreciate your prayers for us.
When I got out of college in 1984, I was praying about what to do. And I had a degree in Petroleum Land Management. And if you remember back in the mid 80s, the oil industry was down in the toilet and so there weren't any jobs in petroleum land management. So I came home. I got a job working sales for a pipe coupling manufacturer. I worked there for 2 years and got some sales experience. And then from that job I worked at Waste Management. Sold trash dumpster service. And that was a fun job, not glamorous, but fun and I worked there 2 years. And then I got a job selling chemicals. And my friend, ...
