Before we knew the Lord was calling us to Atlanta we had planned this new series called Direction, Determining God's will for your life, and so when I talked to the preaching team about my leaving and asked them what they thought about the preaching they said, well you know I think a series on determining God's will for your life would be really good coming from a guy who was just trying to determine God's will for his life. So we are going to spend our last 3 weeks together thinking about that, asking that question, how do I know what God's will is for my life? Does the bible give me any insight on how I am supposed to live? on what I am supposed to do? On who I am supposed to marry?
So we are going to look at three things over the next few weeks…

Understanding the will of Man
And the Understanding the will of God in my life…
So with that said, lets begin with God.
And an interesting place at least to go for this discussion is the last chapter of the book of Genesis… Genesis of course begins with the creation of the world wherein everything was created well and in line and in rhythm with God but then of course tragedy struck and Adam and Eve sinned and everything in all creation fell out of rhythm of with God. But God had a plan of redemption God had a destination in mind. And in Genesis 12 God made a promise to a man Abraham and told him that he would make him into a great nation. But if you read the book of Genesis it basically tells the most unlikely story of how God's promise to this man started to come true, and it obviously wasn't fulfilled by the end of Genesis.
