You Must Be Born Again

John 3: 3 Jesus replied, ''Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.''
A local church spent the weekend engaged in their evangelistic campaign of witnessing and just sharing the good news of Christ. They went throughout the community passing out basic information about their church but mainly about Christ.
A very interesting encounter took place with one of the men that were a part of the effort.
At a particular house, a lady just happened to be in the front, and a conversation took place.
The husband was in the backyard and happened to come around the front just as the conversation had ended, and the man was leaving. He walked up and could see that the wife looked stressed, puzzle and she seem tensed. He asked her, what was wrong?
She said this gentleman gave her information about his church and Christ. He was very knowledgeable about the word, he appeared committed to his church, and he was very nice.
But as he got ready to leave, he turned and asked me a question. He asked me, have you been born again? Are you saved? She said, I was speechless, I did not know how to respond.
The husband said that should not have been too hard to respond to. Why didn't you tell him that we go to the big Baptist church on the hill with the lighted cross on the steeple? She said he did not ask me if I go to church. He then said, why didn't you say to him that we were honored several times for our generous gift to the church? She said he did not ask me about our giving; he asked if I was saved?
He said, well could you not have told him that I have taught the men class for over 20 years and you serve in the mission ministry helping the poor and the needy?
She raised her voice, but that was not what he asked me. He asked if I was born again, ''if I was saved?''
