THE END OF THE ROAD

I've been talking to you for several weeks now about the road ahead and sharing with you what
the Bible predicts about the future. The Bible does tell us some of the things that are coming to pass in the
days of the future and we've been looking at these predictions in the Word of God. We are looking now
at Hebrews 9:27. "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment."
I'm sure you are aware of the fact that the roads we travel on are getting extremely dangerous. It
is not a safe thing many times to get out on the highways. I heard about the tourist who came into Miami
and were gunned down over the weekend. Maybe you read about the people on I-10 who were shot.
Somebody came along and just decided to shoot them. We are living in a day when the highway are
extremely dangerous. Traffic accidents. Alcohol. Many of the traffic accidents we have today are because
of alcohol. So, there are some sobering realities as you travel on the roads of life.
When we come to the road of life and the living of the road of life there are also some sobering
realities. The verse I have read to you tells us about two of those sobering realities. The verse says: it is
appointed unto man once to die. You don't have to live long in life to become aware of the fact that death
is a reality. By observation, by having experiences coming close in your own family you very soon come
to understand as you live in this world and as you travel the road of life that death is a reality. It is reserved,
it is appointed unto man. There is awaiting everyone of us, unless Jesus comes and we are saved, the
experience of death.
